Travel into the Human Psyche
Psychology is the science of human emotion, thought, and behavior, including neural, physiological, and cognitive processes; developmental factors and individual differences; and interpersonal, international, and cross-cultural components. The Psychology major is designed to expose students to a spectrum of basic issues currently being addressed in the discipline, the principles of research design and statistics, and theory and research in specific areas of psychology.

Ein Bachelor-Abschluss in Psychologie bereitet auf ein weiterführendes Studium für eine Karriere in der Psychologie vor. Ein Haupt- oder Nebenfach kann mit einer Weiterbildung in Jura, Pädagogik, Wirtschaft, Sozialarbeit oder anderen gesundheitsbezogenen Berufen kombiniert werden. Studierende mit diesem Haupt- oder Nebenfach haben auch Karrieren in Wirtschaft, Gesundheitswesen, Sozialdiensten, Kommunikation, sozialen Medien, Pädagogik, Personalwesen und anderen Bereichen angestrebt, da Psychologiekurse das Wissen über menschliches Verhalten, analytisches Denken, Kommunikation und Teamfähigkeit sowie die Sensibilität und den Umgang mit Vielfalt vermitteln, die von Arbeitgebern gesucht werden.
Das Psychologiestudium an der Franklin University kann auf dem Campus oder in Zusammenarbeit mit einer Partnerinstitution der Franklin University absolviert werden. Für Studierende, die an intensiver Laborerfahrung interessiert sind, wird ein Auslandssemester im Frühjahrssemester des dritten Studienjahres dringend empfohlen. Die Auswahl der Kursarbeit und Forschungserfahrungen an der Partnerinstitution erfolgt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Psychologieberater der Franklin University und wird vom Dekan für akademische Angelegenheiten genehmigt. Die aktuelle Partnerinstitution ist die Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Studierende können sich in enger Absprache mit dem Psychologieberater auch dafür entscheiden, die Voraussetzung an einer anderen Institution zu erfüllen.

Franklin University Switzerland offers merit scholarships to admitted students based on academic achievements in high school and/or transferable undergraduate work. All undergraduate applicants are considered for merit awards as part of the admissions process, which are awarded at the point of admission with priority given to students applying by the December 1 deadline. Additional need-based scholarships may be awarded on top of merit scholarships, depending on a student’s need. Merit scholarships are renewable for up to four years or eight semesters.
